FestivePost ("the app") is a greeting-card maker published by SetBlue ("we", "us"). This page explains what information the app and our server handle, why, who else is involved, and how you can have your information deleted.
1. Information we handle
| Information | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Registration: your name (required), and email and mobile number (optional), plus a random install ID, your phone's platform (iOS/Android), the app version, and the date you registered. | To keep a record of who uses the app and to contact you about it. You can skip registration; then nothing is sent. | Our server and database. |
| AI wish requests: the occasion, language, tone, recipient type and length you pick, and any names you type for the wish (yours, the recipient's, a business name). | To write the wish. | Our server, which passes the request to Google's Gemini AI service. If the AI is unavailable or over its daily limit, the wish is written by our server without AI. |
| Photo searches: the words you search for when looking for a background photo. | To show royalty-free photos. | Our server, which asks Unsplash or Pixabay for results. Photos you pick are downloaded to your phone. |
| Technical data: your IP address and basic request details (time, page requested, result) when the app talks to our server. | Security, abuse prevention (request limits) and fixing faults. | Kept briefly in our server's memory for request limits, and in standard hosting logs. |
| Usage totals: counts such as how many wishes were generated or photo searches made, with no link to any person. | To run and pay for the service. | Our database. |
2. What stays on your phone
- Your saved cards, drafts, favourites and settings.
- Photos, logos and images you add to a card. The app asks for photo access only to let you pick an image or to save a finished card to your gallery.
- Your phone's contact list is never accessed: the app does not ask for contacts permission. Names and dates are only ever typed in by you.
- Festival reminders. These are scheduled as notifications on your phone; nothing about them is sent to us.
- The groups of names you save (such as "Family"), and the lists of people you made cards for, so they can be reused next festival. Only the names you typed or picked are kept, only on your phone, and they are never uploaded.
- The birthdays and anniversaries you save (a name and a date, and a year if you add one), used to remind you on the day. You enter them yourself; they are not taken from your contacts. The reminders are scheduled on your phone. When you create a greeting for one of these people, the name you saved for them is used in the wish like any other name you type (see section 1); the dates themselves are never sent to us.
- Your logo, if you add one to a card: a copy is kept in the app so your next ready-made greeting can start with it.
When you share a card (for example to WhatsApp), the image goes to the app you choose, under that app's own privacy policy.
3. Who else handles information
We do not sell your information and we do not show ads or use advertising or tracking SDKs. We use these service providers to run the app, each under its own terms and privacy policy:
- MongoDB Atlas — hosts our database (registration records).
- Our hosting provider — runs our server.
- Google (Gemini) — writes AI wishes from the request details in section 1.
- Unsplash and Pixabay — supply stock photos for the search terms you enter.
Some of these providers are located outside your country, so your information may be processed abroad. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
4. How long we keep it
Registration details are kept until you delete them (section 5) or ask us to. Usage totals contain no personal information and are kept as long as the service runs. Hosting logs are kept for the period set by our hosting provider.
5. Deleting your information
In the app: open Settings → Delete my data and confirm. This removes your registration record from our server and erases your cards, drafts, favourites, groups, saved lists, saved birthdays and anniversaries, logo and settings from your phone.
By email: if you can no longer use the app, write to appdev.setblue@gmail.com from the email address you registered with (or give the name and mobile number you used), and we will delete your record, normally within 30 days.
Uninstalling the app removes the data on your phone but does not remove your server record — use one of the options above for that.
Wish requests are not stored against your name on our server. Requests already passed to Google are handled under Google's own retention policy.
6. Your choices and rights
You can skip registration, change your name, email or mobile number in Settings (the server copy is updated), turn off reminders, and withdraw photo, contacts or notification permissions in your phone's settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. Email us at appdev.setblue@gmail.com to use these rights.
7. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will delete the record.
8. Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections and stored in an access-controlled database. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and its "last updated" date, and where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
Your use of the app is also covered by our Terms of Use.
